I’ve been trying to treat my skin really well recently, meaning washing my face regularly, exfoliateing, and moisturizing. But even doing all of those things I still wasn’t doing one thing that I really needed to do, use sunblock! I won’t lie, I don’t use sunblock… Like ever. Because of my skin tone I don’t get sunburn so I’ve always kind of figured what’s the point. Now before you start lecturing me, I know that just because I don’t burn doesn’t mean I’m not doing damage to my skin, or exposing myself to damaging rays. It just means I don’t see the immediate effect of sun exposure, so protection from the sun isn’t the first thing on my mind when I’m going to be out and about all day.

The Jane Iredale, Pure & Simple Makeup Kit has something I’ve never seen before. It comes with two shades of powder foundation that have SPF 20 in them! I’ve never tried any foundations with SPF as part of the formula so I was really interested to test this out. I was sent this kit from Influenster to try, and I’m so glad I was. I truly think I’ve found a staple go to product for myself. I received the Medium pallet, there are 4 options for shades all coming with two shades of foundation. I’ve been using the darker shade for all over my face and the lighter shade to brighten up under my eyes.

The kit also comes with a blush shade, two eye shadow shades, a lip and cheek tint, and two tools. For $33 this kit really is the total package! It has all you need for everyday basics and honestly after wearing the foundation all day my skin still feels so smooth, not dirty and clogged and no breakouts!

My favorite tool to apply the foundation and blush with is a beauty sponge (mine is from Real Techniques) because the powders are powdery (duh). I’ve found that using a damp sponge pics up a lot of product without having the insane amounts of fallout. As for the eyeshadows I haven’t had the fallout problem with them as I have had with the foundation and blush.

The palette gives me a very natural look that’s dewy and light. For the summer that’s exactly what I want, not caked on makeup because I’m not a fan of my makeup sliding off my face in the heat. Going as natural as possible is best for me in the summer, and having the benefit of the foundation having SPF leaves me with one less thing to worry about when I’m out all day.

Overall this palette is a great deal! 10/10 would recommend to everyone, especially with the heat we’ve been having this summer. SPF, cruelty free, hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested, what more could you ask for? Thanks for reading!
