Planning My Dream Vacation to Wildwood, NJ

Hi Loves,

I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer so far! While I love getting to relax on a vacation I have to say, my favorite part about vacation is planning one. So, today we are going to plan my dream vacation to Wildwood, New Jersey. Now I’ve never been to Wildwood, so this is completely new territory for me. I have heard many great things though, so I have an idea of where to start.

Wildwood is a 5-mile long island with white beaches and a 38 block long boardwalk! There are so many activities to do it’s honestly hard to choose. To make things easier let me explain the categories I’ll be talking about today. This post will be broken up by housing, dining, activities, and sights.

Tips for Slowing Down in Life

Slowing down in life. Is that even possible nowadays? I think it is, but you definitely have to be very intentional about it. Slowing down is hard to do, because everyone is all about the hustle and bustle of getting things done.

How quickly can we get this project done? How quickly can I make it out the door in the morning to make that meeting? What is a quick and easy way to make dinner so that I can sit on the couch at the end of a long day?

5 Ways to Make a Life Change in 2022

Hi Loves,

A lot of the time, we tend to stick with what we are comfortable with, instead of going out of our comfort zones to fully reach a state of ultimate happiness with our lives. Your job pays the bills and puts food on the table, but what if it really isn’t what you love? Would you go back to school, or get uncomfortable for a bit, to make sure that you are actually doing what you love? The same question can be asked for many different aspects of our lives: relationships, where we live, and even who we are as an individual. Are you truly happy? If you answered, “no” to that question, or if you are unsure, it may be time to switch things up a bit. Not sure where to start? Here are 5 ways to make a life change in 2022:

Pay more attention to your health

If 2020 and 2021 taught us anything, it taught us that we need to really cherish what we have and improve our health. There are so many ways to do this, but I like to think about it as a whole-body improvement. Start with the inside and work your way out. So, this means focusing on the food you are eating and the amount of water you drink each day. Have your bloodwork done, and figure out what vitamins and supplements you should be taking. Cut back on toxic chemicals that can be found all around your house. Get enough sunshine on your skin each day and figure out ways to reduce your stress. Work out, but find what works best for you, don’t just follow the trends. Stop following fad diets, and instead, eat balanced meals. Sleep enough (this is so important!) and reduce your screen time. Like I said, there are so many ways that you can pay attention to your health and improve it. Your health definitely goes beyond drinking a gallon of water each day.

Why I Stoped Caring About My “Athletic Abilities” and Just Started Playing The Game For Fun

Hi Loves,

Growing up I was never the competitive child. I tried out a LOT of sports, but only 3 stuck for longer than the first season my mother had already paid for. Those were swimming, horseback riding, and skiing/snowboarding. While there were sports I continued through a lot of my childhood and some into high school I was never very competitive with them, which gave me the feeling I wasn’t as good as others. I didn’t even want to compete, but because I wasn’t I felt like I must not be very spectacular. I always felt bad that I never played a competitive sport throughout childhood, high school, and college. I just felt like most people did and it singled me out that I didn’t. I felt like I should have been more “sporty” whatever that even means.

Allan Gardens Park and Conservatory – Photo Journal

Hi Loves,

It’s hard to believe that this trip to Toronto was almost a full year ago, but it was. If you’ve been following me for a while you’d know that my first trip to Canada was back in 2016 and I instantly fell in love with Toronto and Montreal. I’ve been back almost every year since. The last trip was a spontaneous weekend escape with my mom (who didn’t fully understand why I love Toronto so much, but after that trip she started to get the idea) and we had a blast roaming around the city having our adventures.

I Moved!

Hi Loves,

So, I have some big news that didn’t get shared on the blog yet. I moved, not just out of Boston, but out of the state of MA all together! I’m back home where I grew up in New York. Not the city but a bit up the Hudson River from there. Since coming back to the area I’ve had a ton of fun rediscovering old places I loved, and trying so many new places as well. I’ve been loving all the outdoor activities I can do, all the new food locations popping up, and all the great workouts I’ve been able to get in.

What this change means is that my blog will be shifting from Boston life to Hudson Valley life. I’ll be striving to make posts about great things to do, places to eat, and how to spend your time here in the Hudson Valley if you life here, or get the chance to visit. I’m down in NYC all the time, so there will also be some city life content every now and then. You all know photo journals are my jam, and EVERYTHING here is so photogenic you can definitely expect a lot of pics.

Some of you may be asking what I’m doing for work here, and if you don’t follow along on my social media (which you totally should by the way) you wouldn’t know that I’m a full time teacher. I teach 1-7 grade at a Montessori school in the area and I totally love every second of it! Throughout the winter we go snowboarding every Friday in Great Barrington, MA, so there may be some MA content coming up!

I’m so excited for this change, so far it’s been great. I hope to share more and more with you in 2020. Including some photo journals from 2019 that didn’t get posted! My bad!

Love,

If You Must: Phone Case

Hi Loves,

Long time no talk! I’ve missed you guys and writing so much! Will do a life update at some point, but for now let’s talk about a new series I’m starting called If You Must! In this series we will discuss some of the best low waste items to purchase (if you must). These are not items to horde or items to over indulge on. They are for you to have in mind as a low waste and sustainable option if you’re going to be buying something anyway.

I wanted to kick off this series with a product that most of us probably have already, and I know a lot of people who get new ones frequently. Our first brand is…. (drum roll please) Pela Case!

Eye Plus Cream From Dewycel

Hi Loves,

This summer has been a wild, wild ride. Between the sun, swimming, plane and car rides, and now moving into my new apartment my skin has really been drained! My typical skin care routine has not been cutting it with keeping me awake and not looking like one of the walking dead. When Dewycel reached out to me I was so thrilled to test out their eye plus cream! Eye creams are not something I typically included in my routine, but recently I’ve been seriously looking into different eye creams especially for when the weather here in the North East starts to get cold. Please keep in mind that while this post is sponsored all opinions are my own, so don’t let that dissuade you from reading on!
