Planning My Dream Vacation to Wildwood, NJ

Hi Loves,

I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer so far! While I love getting to relax on a vacation I have to say, my favorite part about vacation is planning one. So, today we are going to plan my dream vacation to Wildwood, New Jersey. Now I’ve never been to Wildwood, so this is completely new territory for me. I have heard many great things though, so I have an idea of where to start.

Wildwood is a 5-mile long island with white beaches and a 38 block long boardwalk! There are so many activities to do it’s honestly hard to choose. To make things easier let me explain the categories I’ll be talking about today. This post will be broken up by housing, dining, activities, and sights.

Housing:

For where to stay I’m using Daniel’s Realty. They’ve got a huge selection of rental options in Wildwood that sleep anywhere from 2-12 people. I love that they are located down in Wildwood, since we love supporting local rental offices rather than huge ones (#shopsmall right?) I love that they have so many vacation rentals in North Wildwood, NJ to choose from.

Dining:

Okay, let me say there are SO many restaurants in Wildwood. It was hard to choose a few that stood out to me, but I managed.

Of course I have to have a Greek restaurant on my list being that I am Greek. My choice for Greek food is George’s Place in Wildwood Crest. The food looks incredible and the pricing is reasonable. I’m not going to lie, as I was stalking this menu I was really questioning why I can’t drive down to Wildwood just for this food.

We obviously have to have some boardwalk food on this list, but why not add a little culture to that. Chimney Cake House makes delicious looking kurtoskalacs which are traditionally a Hungarian food. I’m a huge fan of the travel vloggers Flying the Nest and they ate these when visiting Hungary, so getting to try them in Wildwood would be a treat for sure. Still giving the boardwalk vibes but while trying something new!

For breakfast on vacation I love cafe vibes. Theres something about going out before everyone is awake and bringing back coffee and pastries that just screams vacation to me and A Little Cafe really gives those vibes.

Activities:

Time to think about our activities! Now, when I’m planning a vacation I don’t love having every minute of the tripped booked up with things to do, but I do like to have options. I want to know what there is available in the area.

If you’re new here you might not know my love of getting outside and into nature, but that is the reasoning for my first activity pic of visiting the Cape May Bird Observatory. Things like this are my jam. Getting into nature looking for nature, even joining one of their early morning bird walks on the beach! Sign me up!

Activity number 2 is renting a bike and biking the Wildwood Crest Bike Path. The path goes from one end of the island to the other and I think it would be so fun to ride along the beach and stop at cute spots along the way.

The last activity I have planned is for my 21+ friends who also love wine. The Cape May Winery does tours, tastings, and has a tap room for you to visit. I love experiencing local wines when visiting new places, so this outing would be top of my to do list. It’s also a great opportunity for you to get a bit dressier and head out for the evening.

Sights:

Time to see some sights. I love taking in the history of a place I’m visiting, that’s where you really learn about the people and the traditions.

The first sight to see is the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse. I love. a classic lighthouse, but this one is different. It has a great history and is really a fixture of Wildwood.

The next two sights are just go to vacation things for me. That’s watching a sunrise and a sunset. For sunset I’m going to watch it form Sunset Lake Park which is on the west side of the island.

For sunrise we are going to watch at Diamond Beach close to the Cape May Wildlife Refuge.

That concludes my vacation! Now, there is so much more to do in Wildwood, I didn’t mention too much about the boardwalk because I feel like that is something most people are aware of. I like doing things that are not necessarily the first choice for most people. No matter what you do on your trip to Wildwood, you’re bound to have a fantastic time on this beautiful island.

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Me/E
