Baked Mac & Cheese

Hi Loves,

Last night I experimented with making baked mac and cheese for the first time (shocker if you know how much I love baked mac and cheese). Honestly I was nervous about how it would come out at first but after stirring in the cheese the second time It looked delicious and the taste test was a success. So I’m going to share with you what I did and maybe your can do it too!

Ingredients:

1 lb elbow pasta

Shredded cheddar blend

Shredded Mozzarella

Panko bread crumbs

Milk

Butter

Bacon (optional)

Steps:

Step 1: Boil the pasta (kind of obvious, I know). While the pasta is boiling put 7 slices of bacon on a baking sheet and put  into the oven watching it until it’s crispy.

Step 2: After draining the pasta  add it to your baking crock along with 4 pats of butter and stir together.

Step 4: Stir in 1 handful of each kind of cheese.

Step 5: Pour in 2 splashes of milk.

Step 6: Chop up your crispy bacon but do not add it to the pasta yet.

Step 7: Stir all together, 2 more splashes of milk, sprinkle the bacon on top along with one layer of each cheese, place on lid,  and put into the oven for 15 minutes.

Step 8: Remove from the oven and stir everything together. Add another layer of each cheese and put it back in the oven for 15 minutes.

Step 9: Remove from the oven mix it all together. put on one layer of panko bread crumbs and stir that in as well

Step 10: Add one layer of each cheese. Bake for 5 minutes covered.

Step 11: Remove from the oven and add one layer of the bread crumbs. Leave uncovered and put back in the oven for another 5 minutes.

Step 12: Serve hot or let cool!
