Hi Loves,
So, one of the perks to being 21 is that I’m finally old enough to attend the Boston Magazine Taste event! Held annually at the Boston Children’s Museum, this is a night full of good food, good drinks, and a fab DJ! I snagged VIP tickets through GILT City (highly recommend if you haven’t checked it out) for a great price, so I dragged a friend along with me. OH EHM G, let me tell you, the event was so much better than I could have ever imagined. The food was AMAZING, there were so many restaurants with so many different kinds of food. Dessert, dinner, BBQ, sushi, Latin, Italian, anything that gets your tastebuds going, they had it.
On to the photos!
First things first let’s discuss my #OOTN for the evening. Basically I’m head to two Primark! Dress is very 70’s with the bell sleeve and the shift style. I love this dress even though it wrinkles easily, it’s perfect for when you’ll be doing lots of eating because it just hides it so well! Flat over the knee (otk) boots were only $30 at Primark and as of a couple days ago were marked down to $20. Otk boots have been crazy popular the last few years, someday I’ll own the Stuart Weitzman Lowland boot (such goals) but for now these will do the trick. My purse (which is kind of hiding off to the side) was on sale for $5 from Primark back in the spring and was featured in my Embroidery: Spring Trends 2017 article. I know it was a spring trend, but I love the reds and greens in the purse for the fall and winter too!
On to the food!
One of the first stops as soon as we walked in the door was Georgetown Cupcakes. How could I resist! they had an entire table of delicious mini cupcakes. The one above is the maple cupcake, but I also tried a chocolate lava cake cupcake and OMG was it life changing!
This may have been one of the oddest sounding foods but most delicious treat I tasted all night. I’m not a fan of ricotta, but our motto for the night was “try new things” and boy did we! This sweet treat from Benedetto was crispy on the outside with a creamy inside and I could have eaten 10.
Heading up to the second floor you could smell this amazing brisket from The Smoke Shop as soon as you got near. It was so well cooked and flavored, and the cornbread… OMG. If you don’t know I have a VERY strong weakness for cornbread. Must be my southern roots coming out because I could eat it every day of the week.
Eataly is one of the newest and very talked about places in Boston and I’ve been meaning to try it but just don’t have the time to get there. At Taste 2017 they were serving beef heart. I know, sounds weird, BUT “try new things”, right? I loved this beef heart, it was so tender and well cooked. Bravo, Eataly!
Of course I couldn’t survive eating all this food without something to wash it down! Bombay Sapphire had a table where they were making Summer and Winter gin and tonics. Mine was the Summer and boy was it yummy! They even set up this great photo section so everyone could get a pro shot of their drinks.
It was a really great night! I had so much fun trying all of these amazing restaurants and seeing grown people climb up a structure like kids (check the photo above). Even though I only mentioned a few of the restaurants, there were so many others that enticed my pallet that night and I thank you all for that. I’m so looking forward to Taste 2018 already! Thanks for reading!
Love,
Me/E
