Hi Loves,
After work on Monday my friends and I decided to go walk on the Walkway over the Hudson. It is an amazing walking bridge that stretches from one side of the Hudson River to the other. The view from half way is stunning! It was such a sunny but windy day on Monday and because of that it was the perfect weather to be walking. Taking this walk makes me so excited to see what other activities I will have to do this summer, it really makes me look forward to walking and hiking as much as I can and with people I love!

My First Time in Hot Yoga
Hi Loves,
Yesterday I took my first hot yoga class ever at a studio here in Boston where one of my friends works. I was very skeptical about being in a 95 degree room for an hour and a half but she promised me it would be amazing, so I went along with it. I brought with me a huge bottle of ice water (mostly ice) and my regular yoga mat. The class was more women than men but there were still a variety of people, some older and some younger. I think the thing I was most nervous about was passing out from the heat, but that didn’t happen. In fact the hour and a half long class was one of the best yoga classes I’ve ever taken. Throughout the class I felt comfortable stopping for water or to wipe the sweat off my face whenever I need to. I also didn’t over think the heat, having the teacher talking and me focusing on my body movements really distracted me from the fact that I was sweating buckets, literally.
Jessie J Concert
Hi Loves,
So last Tuesday Jessie J came to my school as part of her Sweet Talker Tour! It was held at a local venue and honestly was an amazing night. We had a couple of school groups preform before her then Jessie J stole the show. She is an incredible talent, not only did she sing but she took some time to actually talk to us about life and how it was growing up for her. Her mother attended the show as well which I thought was adorable! She sang some of her old songs and a few ones that are out now. I had an amazing time watching her preform. For the show she work a tunic with the name of my school on it, which she took off mid way and threw into the audience. I’m not sure who caught it but I’m jealous! Under the tunic she had on high waisted bottoms and an adorable bralette. She also wore black Channel booties that were to die for!
Boston Marathon 2015
Hi Loves,
On Monday it was the 119th annual Boston Marathon. It was my first time being in the city during the marathon so a friend and I decided to spend the whole day experiencing it… Little did we know it was going to be a very cold and rainy day. From 9 am to 2 pm we watched the runners and cheered them on, we even helped family members spot out their relatives during the run. Watching so many people run the marathon was honestly an amazingly inspiring experience. People dream of running in the marathon and do it for a cause or for a family member, it is incredible. I would love to run in the Boston Marathon someday but for now I think I am going to start with a few 5K’s with my mom. After telling her about how I loved watching these people run we decided this summer we would find local 5K’s that we can run together.
Her Campus Book Signing
Hi Loves,
On Tuesday night was the Her Campus book signing in Cambridge. Me and two of my friends from my HC chapter went to meet the authors and founders of Her Campus. The signing was held at the Harvard Coop on the third floor. The set up was intimate with seven rows of seats and the podium for the speakers, and of corse pink and white balloons! Two of the authors were able to make it, Annie Wang and Stephanie Lewis, the third member, Windsor Western, was down south touring schools there and signing books. The amazing authors told us the story of how Her Campus started and how they have grown the company since then. These women are truly inspirational, they all have a passion for what they do and that truly shows in the way they speak. After they finished speaking they signed books (I was first in line), and people went and purchased the book. There was a fun raffle with great prizes and everyone who bought the book got a swag bag. Inside my swag bag was a LeSportsac pouch, BareMinerals mascara sample, an adorable BTW note pad, a My Beauty Tea sample which is in the flavor spicy pumpkin (yum), a long with some other little beauty deals. It was a really fun girls night out event with my friends and the Her Campus book is a must read for new college girls or soon to be college girls!
My Day in NYC ft. The Rockettes
Hi Loves,
Yesterday I spent the day in NYC for a family birthday party. When I first arrived we went to pier 62 so that my little cousin could try out the skate park…Let me tell you something, I don’t know how people skateboard or let their children do it! I watched teenage boys and adults do things that I would pee myself attempting. Kudos to them for really being brave for something they love but don’t try to put me on a skateboard unless you’re going to tow me along at .5 MPH. After he had his fill of skateboarding we wet to a restaurant called Thalia’s. It was an adorable restaurant with 40’s inspired decor, we had a delicious brunch and after we were well and full we ended up coming across a crepes food truck! I was desperate to try it but too full to justify it, so we kept walking.
Tatte Bakery – Beacon Hill
Hi Loves,
Since today is such a rainy cloudy, yet still warm enough for a tank top, day in Boston, I decided to throw it back to a sunnier time in life… Yesterday. I’ve been following Tatte Bakery on Instagram since I came to Boston and every day I stare at their delicious tarts and croissant while struggling to get through the day eating dining hall food. When I heard they were opening a location in Beacon Hill, somewhat walking distance for me, I had to go! They have two other locations, one in Brookline and one in Cambridge. If you live in Boston or will be visiting then you MUST have brunch or dessert at one of their locations. Inside looked like an adorable country bakery with white tiles and wood counters. Everything looked and smelled amazing! At first I had no idea what to get, I don’t know anyone who has been to one of their locations so I had nothing to go off of. I honestly could have had one of everything, but since I’ve been so good about not over eating sugary things, I stuck with it and only left with one sugary treat. I picked up a lemon mint tart, and just the name alone had me licking my lips. I carried it all the way back to my room and didn’t eat it until after I’d had a proper dinner.
Spring… Is That You?
Hi Loves,
Today I went for the most amazing walk by the Charles River. I’ve been in Boston since September and I hadn’t walked to the Charles until today. At first I had no idea where I was going, wandering through the West End like a lost puppy, I’m sure a lot of people could tell I was out of place. Then I came to a bridge that crosses over the highway and I found my way through a park and to the water front. Today in Boston the high is 46 degrees! The sun is shining, birds are chirping, and I finally did the cliche walk by the Charles! I know it seems odd to be so excited about doing something so cliche Boston, but I live for doing cliches, don’t ask why, it’s just always been something I love. As I’m walking and thinking I’d better get back soon I stumble across a small boathouse where people are loading some of the boats into the water and tying them up to the docks. So another thing about me is that I LOVE watching boats on the water. Even if they are just tied up and no one is on them, it’s mesmerizing to me. So as I’m sitting there in the sun, with ducks floating in patches of unfrozen river, and boats bobbing at the docks it hits me. It’s finally almost spring! After months of cold cold Boston winter (we broke a record if you haven’t heard) the spring weather is finally upon us! We will not go back to that dark place we where in before where we played “snowbank or a car?” because the snowbanks where the size of cars
