Hi Loves,
Tonight I went to a shopping event at the Vince store on Newbury st. All the clothes were amazing! I tried on a few different things and left with one new item. At Vince they had beautiful basics as well as three main color collections of pink, blue, and green. I snapped some photos so you guys could get an idea of some of the things they carry. I truly loved 90% of the things in the store!
My First Time in Hot Yoga
Hi Loves,
Yesterday I took my first hot yoga class ever at a studio here in Boston where one of my friends works. I was very skeptical about being in a 95 degree room for an hour and a half but she promised me it would be amazing, so I went along with it. I brought with me a huge bottle of ice water (mostly ice) and my regular yoga mat. The class was more women than men but there were still a variety of people, some older and some younger. I think the thing I was most nervous about was passing out from the heat, but that didn’t happen. In fact the hour and a half long class was one of the best yoga classes I’ve ever taken. Throughout the class I felt comfortable stopping for water or to wipe the sweat off my face whenever I need to. I also didn’t over think the heat, having the teacher talking and me focusing on my body movements really distracted me from the fact that I was sweating buckets, literally.
Jessie J Concert
Hi Loves,
So last Tuesday Jessie J came to my school as part of her Sweet Talker Tour! It was held at a local venue and honestly was an amazing night. We had a couple of school groups preform before her then Jessie J stole the show. She is an incredible talent, not only did she sing but she took some time to actually talk to us about life and how it was growing up for her. Her mother attended the show as well which I thought was adorable! She sang some of her old songs and a few ones that are out now. I had an amazing time watching her preform. For the show she work a tunic with the name of my school on it, which she took off mid way and threw into the audience. I’m not sure who caught it but I’m jealous! Under the tunic she had on high waisted bottoms and an adorable bralette. She also wore black Channel booties that were to die for!
Love for Lavender Event
Hi Loves,
April is the month of all cancers and lavender is the color that represents all cancers, so yesterday night my club Her Campus hosted our Love for Lavender event. It was at a local venue called Umbria Prime, there was good food, fun music and awesome raffle prizes! Our event coordinator did an amazing job putting together this event so I have to give her major props!! There was lavender things everywhere, balloon, yummy lavender gum balls, and even a purple carpet! Some of the things we had to win were Red Sox tickets that were a $500 value, TJMaxx gift card, TD Garden cookie jar with Celtics towels, and then there is what I won, a basket full of candy and an amazing mug!!
Boston Marathon 2015
Hi Loves,
On Monday it was the 119th annual Boston Marathon. It was my first time being in the city during the marathon so a friend and I decided to spend the whole day experiencing it… Little did we know it was going to be a very cold and rainy day. From 9 am to 2 pm we watched the runners and cheered them on, we even helped family members spot out their relatives during the run. Watching so many people run the marathon was honestly an amazingly inspiring experience. People dream of running in the marathon and do it for a cause or for a family member, it is incredible. I would love to run in the Boston Marathon someday but for now I think I am going to start with a few 5K’s with my mom. After telling her about how I loved watching these people run we decided this summer we would find local 5K’s that we can run together.
My Day at the MFA
Hi Loves,
Yesterday a friend and I went to check out the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston near Northeastern University. We had never been and with our student ID’s we were able to get in free, so we spent an amazing Saturday walking around the MFA. They featured a Leonardo da Vinci exhibit which had a lot of his amazing sketches such as the one below, one of my favorites, called “Studies of the Hindquarters of a Horse”. I love horses so I had to snap a shot of this piece.

Greek Easter 2015
Hi Loves,
I hope you all had a fun filled weekend! I went home to NY with one of my friends to celebrate Greek Easter with my family. Yes Greek Easter is a week later than Catholic Easter this year, and that has its benefits, like discounted Easter candy!! YUM! My friend came with me because she wanted to experience a truly authentic Greek Easter (like in the movies), and I think she left fully getting what she expected. There was way too much food, a LOT of talking, and a friendly, but very competitive, game of family volley ball (in which the net was dragged down twice by my uncle who could not resist diving for the ball). The day ended with an amazing sunset, and then for me and my friend a three hour drive back to Boston for class Monday morning.
Her Campus Book Signing
Hi Loves,
On Tuesday night was the Her Campus book signing in Cambridge. Me and two of my friends from my HC chapter went to meet the authors and founders of Her Campus. The signing was held at the Harvard Coop on the third floor. The set up was intimate with seven rows of seats and the podium for the speakers, and of corse pink and white balloons! Two of the authors were able to make it, Annie Wang and Stephanie Lewis, the third member, Windsor Western, was down south touring schools there and signing books. The amazing authors told us the story of how Her Campus started and how they have grown the company since then. These women are truly inspirational, they all have a passion for what they do and that truly shows in the way they speak. After they finished speaking they signed books (I was first in line), and people went and purchased the book. There was a fun raffle with great prizes and everyone who bought the book got a swag bag. Inside my swag bag was a LeSportsac pouch, BareMinerals mascara sample, an adorable BTW note pad, a My Beauty Tea sample which is in the flavor spicy pumpkin (yum), a long with some other little beauty deals. It was a really fun girls night out event with my friends and the Her Campus book is a must read for new college girls or soon to be college girls!
My Day in NYC ft. The Rockettes
Hi Loves,
Yesterday I spent the day in NYC for a family birthday party. When I first arrived we went to pier 62 so that my little cousin could try out the skate park…Let me tell you something, I don’t know how people skateboard or let their children do it! I watched teenage boys and adults do things that I would pee myself attempting. Kudos to them for really being brave for something they love but don’t try to put me on a skateboard unless you’re going to tow me along at .5 MPH. After he had his fill of skateboarding we wet to a restaurant called Thalia’s. It was an adorable restaurant with 40’s inspired decor, we had a delicious brunch and after we were well and full we ended up coming across a crepes food truck! I was desperate to try it but too full to justify it, so we kept walking.
The Her Campus Guide to College Life
Hi Loves,
I’m going to be talking about Her Campus today. HC is a nation wide organization with chapters at many universities including a lot of the ones here in Boston. My university has one, which I am a member of, and they are a really fun group of girls. If you want more information on HC you can go to HerCampus.com, but for now I want to talk about the Her Campus book. The founders of HC, Stephanie Lewis, Annie Wang, and Windsor Western, compiled tips for how to manage all the different aspects of college, including midterms, relationships, alcohol and drugs, and handling stress in a healthy and safe way. I pre-ordered my copy from Barns and Noble last week and just got it today so if you do want to pic up the book it is online. The authors are doing a book tour next week and will be stopping in Boston so I will be going to one of the signings at which there will be a reading done as well as swag bags given out. I will be posting a follow up blog post after that event. I’m planning on reading some of the book within the next week so I have an idea of what to expect.
