Baked Mac & Cheese

Hi Loves,

Last night I experimented with making baked mac and cheese for the first time (shocker if you know how much I love baked mac and cheese). Honestly I was nervous about how it would come out at first but after stirring in the cheese the second time It looked delicious and the taste test was a success. So I’m going to share with you what I did and maybe your can do it too!

Holiday Look Book

Hi Loves,

The holidays are one of my favorite times of the year, no school, seeing family, and all the food a girl can eat! So, this year I’m having trouble deciding what to wear, I won’t lie to you, last year the freshman 15 hit me hard, and when I saw my family for the holidays they noticed. This year, I’ve been working hard to make sure that those 15 pounds don’t make another surprise appearance, so I want to make sure my family notices my hard work! This look book is as much for you to get ideas as it is to help me decide what I should wear for the holidays. So I hope this is helpful to you, and if you like one look more than the others please let me know! Your pick may be what I end up wearing.

How to: Making a Basic Budget

Hi Loves,

Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about how to budget my money better without having to go see a  financial planner. I’ve come across a basic way to budget your money. It’s so simple really anyone could do it, and I suggest you do it ASAP. You may think that you don’t need a budget, and you just know how much you are and should be spending on things, but even if you are close to spot on you don’t truly know unless you are keeping track of things. You need to know what you have coming in, going out, and set aside for the future.

Up and Coming : Straw Straws

Hi Loves,

It’s time for another learning moment. I love sustainable products. I think that they are so important for the world, and they just make so much sense! On Thursday I met Alex Bennett, the “Chief Straw Man” from the company Straw Straws. This amazing company is using actual straw to make drinking straws! The straws are from the stalks of rye plants that go through a natural process which hardens them so they are durable enough to use as proper drinking straws. Now you may be skeptical about this and thinking “They couldn’t be as good as plastic straws”. I disagree. I got to try out the straws and I felt like they were just as good as plastic straws without the waste that plastic straws create. In comparison to paper straws I would go with Straw Straws 10/10 times. Both are biodegradable, but paper straws always fall apart in my drinks leaving floating paper bits (not attractive). Straw Straws are also very aesthetically pleasing to me, they are in the natural form of the rye so they are very natural and earthy.

Breast Cancer Awareness Walk

Hi Loves,

October is Breast Cancer Awareness last Sunday I was able to participate in a breast cancer walk here in Boston. It was 5 miles all around the Charles River, and it was the perfect fall day. I’ll admit after the first 2 miles I thought my legs might fall off. I try to be as active as possible but when it comes down to it I’m just not a sporty girl. Thankfully I had friends with me so it was really a team effort! By some amazing feat we were able to finish all 5 miles, and our team raised a good amount of money for the American Cancer Association. At the end of the walk there were tons of people cheering us on and snack packs waiting for us. It was so fulfilling to know we did something for such a good cause, and we had a fun time doing it.

College Fashion Week 2015

Hi Loves,

Not only was last Saturday, October 3, Mean Girls Day (so fetch), but it was also College Fashion Week Boston! This year had an amazing group of sponsors including Fiat, European Wax Center, Jamberry Nails, Shake Shack, Monthly Gift, Simon Malls, and Milani Cosmetics. There were 5 different stations where you could get your eyebrows filled in, learn how to put on nail decals, get some delicious frozen custard, or take some fab photos!

Fall 2015 Bucket List

Hi Loves,

It’s officially fall! Fall is one of my favorite seasons because I love wearing cozy clothes, dark colors, and fuzzy socks under my boots. I really want to get out more this fall than I did last year, fall is a season to enjoy, before staying in all winter and enjoying that beauty while under tons of blankets. So let’s get into this list.

1.) Take a walk through the park – Boston has so many beautiful parks so my goal is to take a leisurely walk through the park on one of my days off. I love taking in the beautiful fall leaves, it’s one of the best parts of living in the north east!

Panic At The Disco!

Hi Loves,
Tonight I went to the free Panic At The Disco concert that was put on by local radio station 92.9. It was an awesome show full of old songs and their new one. They closed the show with I Write Sins Not Tragedies and it was AMAZING! I’m so happy I got to go with my friends, it made for a fab girls night. Although some of the crowed got rowdy and tried to start a mosh pit we didn’t let it ruin our fun! After the show we grabbed slushies from 7/11, it was the perfect ending to a fun night!
